An Evening in The Past - Frederick Douglass
Join us for an evening of history and inspiration with Frederick Douglass. Douglass became a national leader in the abolitionist and social reform movements after escaping slavery in 1838 and was known for crossing racial and ideological lines as he worked to end slavery in the United States. Douglass was also appointed the first Black U.S. Marshal, when he was appointed U.S. Marshal for the District of Columbia by President Rutherford B. Hayes. The evening will include a time period inspired menu of Douglass’s favorite foods and popular foods of the time period.
