SUMMARY:An Evening In The Past - Benjamin Franklin
DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets Here\n  \nThe U.S. Marshals Museum’s annual fundraising celebration of American history\, An Evening in the Past\, returns on December 4\, 2023 in the museum’s Robert B. and Betsy J. Westphal Atrium. The 9th annual event offers history lovers of all ages a unique opportunity to eat\, drink\, and engage with one of the most intriguing and important historical figures in our nation’s history. This year’s guest of honor is none other than the celebrated entrepreneur\, author\, inventor\, humorist\, diplomat and Founding Father – Benjamin Franklin. Actor/historian William Ochester portrays Mr. Franklin at the height of his wit\, wisdom and influence during the American Revolution. Tapping his own natural wit and charm\, William Ochester’s Benjamin Franklin puts his audience at ease as he shares Dr. Franklin’s natural curiosity and exploring spirit\, especially in the field of medicine. His clothing and manner are remarkably close to those of the Old Gentleman\, and he delights in using numerous props to bring Dr. Franklin alive in his presentations. Bill’s spectacles are original (circa 1750)\, and he will proudly show the “actual key” from the Lightning  Experiment\, his Poor Richard’s Almanac\, and original currency and newspapers of the colonial era.\n \nFor more than 25 years\, the first-person historians and interpreters of American Historical Theater have encouraged audiences to encounter and interact with history\, developing empathy and underscoring the role of choice. They hope to provide a better understanding of the struggles and achievements of past generations\, and inspire the present to use these lessons to create a better future. \nIn addition to the immersive historical theater experience\, guests will enjoy period-inspired cocktails\, and a multi-course meal provided by the team from Fort Smith’s elegant restaurant and bar\, 21 West End. \nAll proceeds benefit the educational programming and events of the United States Marshals Museum\, a 501c3 non-profit educational organization. \nWHAT: An Evening in the Past: Benjamin Franklin\nWHEN: Monday\, December 4 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.\nWHERE: United States Marshals Museum\n789 Riverfront Drive\, Fort Smith\, AR 72901 \nSponsorships are still available.
